A New Generation of Midwest Farmers: A Beginning Farmers Program For Socially Disadvantaged Communities in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana

“A New Generation of Midwest Farmers: A Beginning Farmers Program For Socially Disadvantaged Communities in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana ” will be a continuation of Agricademy Inc.’s overall goal is to increase the number of SDFRs in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana (OKI).

The geographic regions are those within 100 miles of the greater Cincinnati Tri-State area. Major metropolitan areas include Cincinnati, OH, Indianapolis, IN, Columbus, OH, Lexington, KY, Louisville, KY, Dayton, OH. While our focus will be on all socially disadvantaged groups, our emphasis will be on Black/African American adults 18-34 years old because they represent the most significant deficit in resources, education, and exposure. The outcome will be delivering a program that will create 135 new SDFRs living in the OKI region, over the next 3 years, who had little to no exposure to the agriculture industry before enrolling in our program.
