Course Overview:
This 12-week course provides a comprehensive introduction to various sectors within the agriculture industry, preparing students to explore opportunities in small-scale farming and agribusiness for profit. Rather than focusing on a single farming method, this course exposes participants to multiple industries, including apiculture, poultry, horticulture, aquaculture, vermiculture, cut flower production, and more. Students will also learn essential business skills, including developing a business plan to transition their knowledge into a viable agricultural enterprise. Successful completion of this course will make you eligible to enroll in the Fall twelve-week hands-on Small-Scale Farming Course.
This is not a gardening class; instead, it is designed to introduce participants to diverse agricultural industries and business fundamentals to support small-scale farming operations.
